9th Street Village: Get to Know Our Community of Creatives

Welcome to 9th Street Village! As our grand opening approaches, we wanted to share more information about our community of creatives with Central Oregon. 9th Street Village came about as a way to inspire collaboration between Central Oregon’s finest makers, artisans and designers all in one central location. Located at the intersection of 9th Street and Armour Road, you’ll find 9th Street Village, a gathering place for creative professionals in Southeast Bend.

We are Movers, Shakers, Makers

9th Street Village proudly strives to create an all-inclusive community of movers, shakers and makers. Come to 9th Street Village and discover a neighborly, small-town feel that gets back to the basics. This is a gathering place for self-sufficient people in the business world, stripping down to what matters most — community, hard work and heart. You’ll find everything you need at 9th Street Village.

DIYcave

We opened DIYcave at the corner of 9th Street and Armour Road in 2014 with the mission to create an environment where ideas and expertise can be shared. Our Bend makersspace invites makers throughout the community to come together to solve common problems and bring their creative visions to life. Learn a new skill in a safe environment or teach others skills they may not have otherwise had the chance to learn. Build out your camper van or a tiny house. There’s something for everyone from small children to adults to learn or make at DIYcave.

Griffin Coworking

The way we work has changed. Workers who build their businesses behind a desk have the opportunity to work within a fusion coworking environment at Griffin Coworking. Our coworking space in Bend offers members a variety of benefits beyond a shared community workspace. Grab breakfast from the food carts at Brunch Junction, lunch at The Patio, happy hour at Bevel Craft Brewing and then attend a class or art event at Bright Place Gallery or DIYcave. Griffin Coworking has small desks, large desks and private offices available for rent in a convenient location near Bend High School.

Bright Place Gallery

Art stays at the forefront of conversation at 9th Street Village’s community of creatives. Bright Place Gallery is an artist collective that includes an art gallery and studio spaces for rent. Work in collaborative or private environments and take advantage of easy access to the tools and equipment at DIYcave. Art admirers flock to Bright Place for art-focused events including open studios, themed art shows, open mic nights and local gifts.

Bevel Craft Brewing

In Bend and across the world, breweries bring people together to share not only a pint but their stories and experiences. Bevel Craft Brewing opened its doors at 9th Street Village in April 2019, bringing their hop-forward beers to our spacious outdoor community. Bevel unites our community of creatives, foodies, artists, makers and friends with finely crafted beers made on-site in their brewery and taproom. Founders Valarie and Nate Doss are world-champion disc golf athletes, which they have combined with their passion for beer. Check out their taproom at 9th Street Village, grab an IPA and toss a disc into the basket that sits in the center of The Patio. Bevel also hosts live music, trivia nights, bingo, as well as other lively events that bring people together.

The Patio & Brunch Junction

The Patio is the newest food cart pod in Bend, Oregon, located at 9th Street Village. The Patio can be found behind Bright Place Gallery and Bevel Craft Brewing. We also have two food carts at the corner of 9th Street and Armour Road, which we call Brunch Junction. Feed your desires with a variety of cuisines available at The Patio and Brunch Junction. The Patio includes The Grill 1646, serving up burgers; Nosh, an eclectic menu for all palates; Taqueria El Nava, for your authentic Mexican favorites; and Southern Accent, serving the best of the South. Brunch Junction includes Brown’s Basics, a small-batch bakery and food cart; as well as Industrial Joe’s, a drive-up coffee cart. The Patio includes tables and chairs forged at DIYcave, keeping the handcrafted, collaborative spirit of The Village alive.

SOLSK8s

SOLSK8s, also knows as Seed of Life Skateboard Company, operates in a building at 9th Street Village located on 9th Street itself. Skaters find this to be a convenient location, as it’s right around the corner from Ponderosa Skate Park. SOLSK8s sells skateboards, clothing, shoes and more. You can also participate in open indoor skate sessions at SOLSK8s on Tuesday and Sunday evenings. They also have SOLSIDE DIY and Ramps open seven days a week.

9th Street Village Grand Opening

9th Street Village was founded by Dave Danek, Annie and Tim Willis, and Charah and Aaron Leis to support the wills and creativity of Bendites and visitors to the area. 9th Street Village includes a collection of businesses occupying more than two acres with four buildings and a large outdoor courtyard off of 9th Street in Bend, Oregon. We are excited to share our mission and expand our community of creatives at the 9th Street Village Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday, September 14, 2019.

Drop by for food, beer, music and fun! We’ll have tours of DIYcave, Griffin Coworking and Bevel Craft Brewing. We’ll also have music from Tone Red, Lande and Sleepless Truckers, comedy at Bright Place Gallery and prizes throughout the day.
